  • Course | UAVT 002UAV Pilot Ground School

This course is compliant with Transport Canada's requirements for Pilots of Small UAV Systems and covers five main areas of foundational knowledge: air law, navigation, meteorology, aeronautics and radiotelephony. In addition, the course employs a practical approach of UAV operations by introducing students to real flight scenarios from industrial applications, such as filmmaking, search and rescue as well as inspections. Critical UAV pilot skills covered include: flight planning, standard operating procedures, risk and crisis management, equipment maintenance and repairs and post flight image/video processing. 

5 Online Live Sessions. Total 22 Hours over 20 Day period.

  • May 12 to Jun 2 Weekday Schedule (1pm to 6pm Tuesday and Friday)
  • Jun 10 to 30 Weekend Schedule (10am to 3pm)

Delivery Format: The course is delivered ONLINE with both Self-Learning and Live Session (Instructor-led) components. Self-Learning is a mixture of multi-media material guide by quiz and practice and delivered through Blackboard.

Course Duration: The courses runs over a 20-day period. Minimum 20 Instruction Hours are required to qualify for Transport Compliant Operator Status.

  • 22 hours Live Sessions: Live Sessions are being recorded. Students can access the recorded videos for the duration of the course.
