Applicants are required to submit a portfolio in order to assess their artistic ability and previous experience. The portfolio will include 8 – 10 pieces of their best artwork.
Applicants must submit the portfolio through SlideRoom. SlideRoom is a secure site where secondary requirements are collected, scored and stored. Log-in to https://humber.slideroom.com and create your free account. There will be additional instructions once your account has been created.
Applicants must meet secondary requirements in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility does not guarantee an offer of admission.
All secondary requirements will be evaluated by the academic school.

Humber’s 3D Modelling and Visual Effects Production certificate program is designed by artists for experienced traditional artists and animators who want to either develop or transition their skill sets for employment in the 3D and visual effects industries. You will learn relevant industry workflow, so you can make a seamless transition into a real production environment.
Courses focus on both the conceptual and the technical, as you learn to master visual techniques to bring ideas to life. You’ll develop skills in modelling, texturing and lighting, as well as in visual effects, compositing and digital cinematography. At the same time, you’ll learn the technical skills required in today’s competitive 3D and visual effects industries. Our graduates possess a good balance of technical skills and esthetic development – able to create, as well as produce stunning 3D productions.
This program is not Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) eligible. Class size is limited to 20 students.
The 3D film industry has become a global multibillion dollar business, using the talents of modellers, animators and visual effects specialists. Prepare yourself to work for large or small production houses in the film, broadcast design, visual effects and gaming sectors. Employers may include Ubisoft, ARC Animation, Intelligent Creatures, Red Rover, The Astound Group, LucasArts, Soho VFX, Sinking Ship Entertainment, KeyFrame Animation, Mr. X, Frantic Films and CBC.
