With Humber’s Graphic Design for Print and Web certificate program, you will develop a diverse and complete skill set that will help you gain a competitive edge in this dynamic field. With training in industry-standard graphic applications for both print and web design, our project-based learning environment features expert facilitation using the latest Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Dreamweaver.
Our courses, theory and principles of design are complemented by multiple hands-on demonstrations and real-world projects such as designing editorial and outdoor advertising campaigns & magazine publications, responsive web design for mobile devices, prototyping sustainable box packaging concepts and, ultimately, creating an online portfolio website using industry standards and best practices in HTML / HTML5, CSS / CSS3 animations, jQuery, user interface design and usability testing. Your online portfolio website will showcase your print and web design skills, in addition to your coding and development abilities. Students will also learn the fundamentals of typography for print and web, interactive prototyping, and project management.
Our program will also prepare you for pursuing employment during our Employment Skills courses. Your instructors will mentor you on how to network and interview with employers, build and write effective resumés and cover letters, draft contracts and proposals, and develop pricing schemes for design related freelance projects. Finally, you will develop a clear personal branding package as a freelance design entrepreneur and optimally present your portfolio for various types of positions within the design industry using engaging presentation decks.Courses
