Your Career

Everywhere you look, people are tweeting, posting, sharing, writing, shooting video, creating audio projects and more. But how can you tell what’s accurate, what has merit and what is important? The need for news and expertise – the hallmark of journalism at Humber – has never been greater.

Our program is designed to give you the tools you need to seek opportunities in all aspects of the digital workplace. We’ll get you ready to work in a wide variety of communications-based enterprises including traditional journalism and the vast and fast-developing world of digital journalism.

While, historically, many graduates have found work as a reporter for a newspaper, a radio or TV station or as a magazine feature writer, today you may be just as likely to see your career develop in digital communications, either working for an enterprise or developing your own independent entrepreneurial brand.

As media organizations change to meet the needs of the public, there are more opportunities for people with modern communication skill sets to begin their careers. These skills are transferable to all industries and sectors – wherever there are organizations looking to communicate their message, build their brand and tell their stories.
