The School of Media Studies and Information Technology, in collaboration with Business Academy Aarhus in Denmark, will be offering a unique 2-week intensive summer course where you will develop the knowledge and skills you need to start your journey through the dynamic and creative world of social media communication.

This hybrid course will be offered in July 2017. Students will complete an on-line component from July 4-14, and then join full-time classes from July 17-28 (Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day - 9am-3pm).

Social Media Content Creation Course

The course focuses on

  • Strategies for social media content development
  • Photo and video creation and editing on your smartphone
  • 'Green screen' video creation with professional cameras and editing software
  • Professional blogging
  • Aligning all your social media content to the same core story (storytelling)
  • Measuring and analysing outcomes
  • And much more!

Students will get hands on experience creating relevant and meaningful social media content, including video, picture and text production, for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. This innovative course will be taught by both Humber and BAAA faculty and will include tours of relevant companies, including the Facebook head office in Toronto.

Note: Upon completion students will be eligible to receive 1.0 lower level degree breadth elective - subject to approval
