For content creators, whether they work in film, TV or the web, the editing process is where stories are shaped and messages honed. Editing is much more than simply choosing the best shots for your video; the process includes creating title designs, placing music, designing effects, adjusting colour, and final output and uploading. Equal parts technical and creative, the Video Editing certificate program introduces you to post-production opportunities as a video/film editor, assistant or special effects designer.
As a student in this three-course, hands-on program, you will learn foundational and advanced editing skills and theory. The software used for the intro and advanced courses is Adobe Premiere, the most widely used editing software across the media production industry. You will also learn to work with Adobe After Effects to create animated titles, special effects and colour corrections.
These three courses will give you foundational skills in editing and producing video projects for streaming on YouTube and other various web broadcast platforms. Along with your technical skills, you will learn aesthetic editing techniques used in various types of video productions, such as documentaries, corporate videos and dramatic narrative productions.
